DEFINE: state the meaning of the word or phrase. Include the meaning and sufficient detail to tell the meaning apart from similar words or phrases.
COMPARE: state what is the same in/about the two things being compared to what is different between them. Be sure to include examples that show how the things are similar or different in one or more important ways.
